This tune is an arrangement of a composition that Billings called "Savannah". The arrangement was later entered into the Cooper version of The Sacred Harp on page 389 but with the three flats of the key signature removed, thus converting the tune to one in the major mode. A somewhat different version of Billings original tune can be found in the North Carolina version of William Walker's The Christian Harmony on page 248. This version is called "Union".
